How To Set Up Your New Home Pod

Setting up your homepod is a breeze thanks to Apple's automated setup feature.

Introduced in iOS 11, Automatic Setup lets you automatically sign in with your Apple ID and move your new Apple to iPhone or iPad near iPhone or iPad for general preferences and personal settings, including transferring your Wi-Fi. How to set up HomePod with Automatic Setup

1) Install your home pod in a wall outlet.

2) Wait for a flickering and bright white light to appear on the top of the home pod, indicating that the device is ready to be configured for the first time. Now open your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch iOS 11.2.5 or later and place it within one or two inches (a few centimeters) of the speaker.

3) When the setup card appears on the iOS device, tap Setup to continue.

Tip: If the card does not appear, make sure the iOS device is open, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi enabled in settings, running iOS 11.0 or later and being held within a few centimeters of your home pod. Is.

4) Choose a room name from which your homepod already has a list of populated room names, such as "living room", "bedroom", "kitchen", "dining room" or something else. Your HomePod will be added to the iOS home app and assigned to the room you specified here.

Note: People who use HomeKit in multiple locations may be asked to select a home to which they want to connect their HomePod. Once the speaker is up and running, you can use the Home app to change its name, room assignment, and other settings.

This feature allows you to set up a reminder, send a message, or create a note on the HomePod, whenever the iOS device is on the same Wi-Fi network. 6) If you choose to use the personal applications feature, you will be asked if you want to use this device for location sharing. 9) Tap Transfer Settings to allow your HomePod to transfer iCloud / Apple ID, Siri preferences, Wi-Fi passwords and Apple Music subscriptions from the iOS device.

If you are not already an Apple Music subscriber, you are offered a trial subscription during setup.
10) You will be greeted with a "setup" message.
