HomePod and password-protected Wi-Fi networks
Your HomePod or HomePod Mini connects to your iPhone or iPad over the same Wi-Fi network. But how do you connect it to Wi-Fi networks in other places, such as campuses and offices?
Like your home Wi-Fi, these networks are usually password protected. The problem is that your homepod lacks a keyboard or screen for entering passwords. Additionally, the home app, where you configure your HomePod and change its settings, lacks the ability to connect smart speakers to wireless networks that your iPhone does not use.
Thankfully, there is a way to accomplish this even though you may have to jump on some hoops.
How to connect HomePod to Wi-Fi in campuses, offices and more
Follow the steps in the embedded video, in which our videographer and college student Harris Curry Craft helps you connect any device without a keyboard or screen, whether it's a Garmin, a smart speaker, Alexa Ho and many more schools, from networks found in schools, colleges, universities, hotels, offices and much more.
Keep in mind that this trick will not work with sign-in requirements for captive networks and similar subscription networks. These networks use a special web page that is shown to newly connected users in a web browser, which requires them to manually request access to the network.

How to view your HomePod’s network information
Your homepod's MAC address will be required to give the administrator access to the network you wish to join. You can find the MAC address of your HomePod in the Home app on your iPhone or iPad: Press and hold the HomePod in the app, then tap Settings in the popup card. Now scroll down to find your Wi-Fi address below.
To switch between the HomePod network identifier and the Wi-Fi network name to which your smart speaker is currently connected, just touch the Wi-Fi address label.
